I have attached links for creating a windows 10 installation media using Media creation Tool and the steps for changing Boot order in BIOS, after the installation of Windows10 on the new SSD, boot with it, go to Disk Management, right click your HDD and select format(which will delete all files on the drive), then right click the drive and create a new volume and assign a drive letter.ġ.Create an installation media(USB disk) using Media Creation Tool.Ģ.Install the M.2 SSD, insert the USB disk.ģ.Go to BIOS(press Del as soon as you power on the PC) move to Boot tab using right arrow key, highlight USB disk by using down/up key, then press F6 key to move USB disk to first boot position, press F10 to save and exit.Ĥ.Reboot the PC, follow the prompts on the screen to install Windows 10, do not worry about Product key, it's already embedded in your system.ĥ.Once you have completed installation, remove the USB disk, reboot and enter BIOS, make new SSD as your first boot device, again press F10 to save and exit.Ħ.I would suggest you to remove old HDD and boot only with SSD to check everything works, then you can install the HDD and format it. If it is impossible to connect SSD to a laptop or PC, but you have a USB flash drive, you can transfer the contents of the flash drive to an SSD in the rig.
